We do not and cannot see the future and eliminate every potential problem but we can prepare and be proactive. This involves being early to act and not waiting until the last minute as it pertains to lawn care. It also involves being aware of issues in your lawn, more specifically your soil that can cause bigger problems later on. Some of these are easy to spot and some of them are microscopic. Just like owing a car, you can check your tires on the weekend to check tire pressure and uneven wearing to avoid that most tragic car accident. You should be aware of your lubricants and monitor them to see just how well your engine is wearing. This is more demanding as it requires an oil analysis to see if your oil is being undermined by a corrosive element. You of course cannot see this with the naked eye as used oil looks like all other used oil (if you have lumps in your oil, pray) right? This oil testing allows to to be aware of problems big or small so you can act accordingly. This pays for itself very quickly as your engine lasts longer and efficiency gets increased. Your lawn is not too different. After running over 100 soil tests over the past few years, I have been able to identify, correct and repair failing soils that were secretly costing the customer a lot of wasted money. I encourage you to be proactive and learn how you can achieve efficiency in your lawn and get out of struggle.
