So, I bet you’re wondering what this title means. It sounds a little confusing in and of itself doesn’t it? Let me explain.
There are a lot of misconceptions on how to take care of the lawn and while I will not get into the story here back in 2017 we switch trajectory of using the traditional status quo method of taking care of the lawn with a biological system. Just to bring you up to speed a biological system uses organic nutrition but rather than just using organic material it incorporates microbiology which is the secret to having a successful organic or in this case biological program. There are a lot of myths surrounding lawn care. Let me list a few of them so you’ll know what I’m talking about.
- The need for you to put something down in the early spring to “get the lawn going”.
- The desire to see rapidly growing grass.
- The need to water every other day just to keep the lawn alive.
- Power raking
- Core aeration
- Weed control and the use of herbicides
- The belief that a single action will make or break the lawn.
- The belief that Nitrogen solves all problems.
Sounds pretty discouraging and probably frustrating right? These are major misconceptions that are keeping people trapped in a failing system that is high maintenance with a lot of hidden cost. There is this mindset that unless human beings intervene with the lawn that it will fail, as if they are responsible for its success or not. Some of this is true however there is a lot of falsehoods in this belief structure. In the biological system we are in essence repairing the damage that is caused in the soil from the inorganic salts that are inherent with the composition of synthetic fertilizers. The list above accounts for much of the effects of the damage that is imposed on the soil, rendering the soil almost useless as the plant is force-fed in organic nutrition to accomplish what is perceived as the state of health. In addition to repairing the soil full-spectrum nutrition is utilized to supply all of the macro and micro nutrients that are not available in synthetic fertilizers. The prevailing reason for a lot of lawn disease is directly attributed to the abundance of pathogenic microbiology that thrive in harsh conditions that have filled the void left behind from a lack of beneficial microbiology. Much of the problems that exist in your lawn are a direct result of synthetic fertilizer. In addition to full-spectrum nutrition the third phase of a biological system is of course reestablishing biology which serves to create a relationship between the soil and the root to transfer nutrients from the atmosphere and the soil into the plant naturally as it occurs out in the forest. This is in essence the structure of a biological system and very simplistically how it functions. If this appeals to you feel free to hit the link below to get more information on how you can escape the trap and the cost of the synthetic fertilization system.
