Every one wants a green lawn without problems. That isn’t too much to ask is it? Do you want to hear the truth or are you willing to fall victim to tradition, bad habit, bro-science, conventional wisdom, myth and sometimes superstition? I will give you a little break, I was in the industry for over 20 years before it was revealed to me the world of hurt that we were in. Let me put that into perspective. In one day of service I would see the action that one home owner would see in an entire year. Experience counts for a lot and I hope that my failure, pain and struggle and eventual enlightenment, discovery and success will leave with you an indelible mark of what you are dealing with, regardless of who is doing the work.
Let me utter a highly controversial statement that hopefully will leave you with the desire to research this for yourself. Using synthetic fertilizers on your lawn will lead to a more expensive lawn. Period.
Our soils, that are high alkaline, low organic content, clay and sand, that are compacted are highly dysfunctional and rely on inefficient actions, treatments and resources to suppress the symptoms of a failing soil in order to mask this failure and appear healthy.
It may seem contradictory, but we do not have a fertilizer problem, we have a biology problem. If we use the power of microbiology to harness the resources that are already present in the air and the soil and back away from synthetics we can realize the effectiveness of how nature operates and benefit from the simplicity and effectiveness that can be experienced when you do so.
The biological system can turn the worst looking lawn into one that is beautiful and even turn a beautiful lawn into an efficient one. I encourage you to learn the difference between the two systems. It will save you thousands in wasted resources.
