There is a lot of frustration surrounding lawn care. My personal confusion turned disenchantment began in 2017. I had what I call was my own Troy Aikman moment. My personal frustration led me to ask the question, “is this the best it’s ever going to be?”
This letter will serve to clarify what our program is and what it is not and to differentiate between the only two systems of fertility, the synthetic method and the biological method.
The synthetic model relies on inorganic chemistry to force-feed plants in an unnatural way. They are cheap, they are fast and they work and they have people addicted as is the plant in which they are used on. A synthetic lawn is desperate for attention and will not survive for very long without the direct intervention of human activity. Much of what we know about traditional lawn care are actually symptoms of a dysfunctional system. Things such as power raking, core aeration, lawn disease, weed infiltration, insect infestation and high water bills are directly attributed to the use of synthetic fertilizers as they prevent the plant from protecting itself as it would if it were in the biological system. These extra and unnecessary actions contribute to the overall cost of maintaining a lawn which is increasingly more and more expensive as the years go by as the soil becomes resistance over time through the use of synthetic fertilizers.
We seek to change this.
The biological system, or in its longer form, organic biological regenerative soil program seeks to reestablish the relationship between the root in the soil which should be viewed upon as one organism workings symbiotically to accomplish the goal of sustaining, healing, growing in reproduction of plant life by cycling nutrients both from the soil and the atmosphere into the plant. The soil microbes participate in every aspect of a plant’s life by decomposing organic waste, providing an immune system, increasing the water carrying capacity of the soil, fighting off pathogenic microbial organisms, converting inorganic resources already in the soil into bioavailable nutrients for the plant, etc.
Synthetic fertilizers were invented in Germany over 100 years ago and found their way into United States and the rest is history.
Because no one is alive who remembers a time before synthetics were in the country as an adult we spend a lot of time educating the public on the fact that our program predates the synthetic method by literally millions if not billions of years as microbes are as old as dirt is on the Earth.
Our program is based upon this premise, there is something terribly wrong with the soil and an alternative action needs to occur. Once this is accepted and understood we moved to the second step in our program.
That second step is crucial in identifying why we are in trouble. That second step is having a soil test performed. Once a soil test has been achieved we can eliminate a lot of trial and error and save a lot of energy guessing what is troubling the soil.
Once we have the results of a soil test for a customer we use that data to prescribe an individual program for that particular lawn. The notion that all soils are the same and should be treated the same as one of the fallacies of the synthetic method. I can assure you after running over 100 soil tests over the past four years I have never found any two soil reports that are identical. While they may be similar everyone’s lawn or more specifically everyone’s soil is unique to their own yard and needs unique attention in order to solve the deficiencies that it may or may not be suffering from.
This corrective action or as we like to call it in our business Supercharge sets the soil on the right trajectory to establish a thriving population and ecosystem of microbiology. This is the essence of our program and is the solution for all of the problems that lawns face. With proper hydration and time we have been able to pull around in a dysfunctional soil and render it porous, biological, organic, balanced with improved water carrying capacity. In other words we are seeking to create efficiency in the soil by reestablishing the relationship between the soil and the root structure.
Organic lawns will use tremendously lower amounts of inputs reducing your exposure to toxic chemicals, high water bills and practically every other malady that you face and are frustrated in your lawn.
I hope that this letter serves to clarify and shed some light on what the biological system is all about and what it is capable of. We would love to educate you on this as we are passionate about it as it can solve and is solving problems for our customers in a radical way.
